Scripture:
“I have told you this so that you will have peace by being united to me. The world will make you suffer. But be brave! I have defeated the world!”
— John 16:33
Reflection:
In this powerful verse, Jesus, our Savior and Lord, reveals His omniscient understanding of the chaos we face in this world. He forewarns us about the tribulations that will come our way, as Christians and as humans, such as rejection and separation from loved ones due to our beliefs.
Yet, amidst these trials, we find good news: we are encouraged to rejoice because Christ has overcome the world through the power of the Holy Spirit. Joy, a fruit of the Spirit, is a promise from the Father as Jesus ascended.
As we navigate our days and weeks, let us remember that the Word—Jesus Christ—became flesh and dwelt among us. He intimately understands our struggles and stands ready to grant us victory over life’s challenges.
Prayer:
Father Lord of Grace, we thank You for the victory we have in You. It is not by our might but by Your Spirit that we are strengthened. Help us to remain brave and steadfast in our faith as we face the world’s challenges. In Jesus Christ’s mighty name, we pray. Amen.
