Scripture:
“It is the Lord who gives wisdom; from him come knowledge and understanding. He provides help and protection for those who are righteous and honest.”
— Proverbs 2:6-7
Reflection:
Wisdom has often been defined differently by elites and philosophers, but as children of God, we understand that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and shunning evil is understanding. These qualities are the fruits of God’s Spirit within us, helping us to do good even when the flesh is weak.
The wisdom and understanding we receive from God enable us to live in peace with Him and others. This, in turn, attracts His protection and help, as we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
As we navigate this day, let’s seek wisdom and understanding from God, who is our ultimate source. Our help and protection come from Him.
Prayer:
Dear Holy Spirit, You are the Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding. We pray for Your mark upon us, distinguishing us from those who do not know You. We trust that Your hand is always upon Your own, delivering us from the evil one.
In Jesus Christ’s mighty name, we pray.
Amen.
