Scripture:
“Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” —Romans 6:3-4 (NKJV)
Reflection:
Baptism is more than a symbolic act; it marks the beginning of a new chapter in our lives. Through baptism, we publicly declare our faith and commitment to follow Jesus. In going under the water, we identify with His death, leaving behind our old selves, and as we rise from the water, we embrace the new life He offers us.
This new life is a fresh start, free from the burdens of past mistakes and sins. It calls us to walk with purpose, reflecting Christ in our words and actions. Baptism reminds us that, as followers of Jesus, we are empowered by His resurrection to live a life of love, service, and faith. It is a commitment to continually grow in our relationship with God, relying on His grace and strength to guide us through every challenge.
As we live out our baptism, may we be reminded daily of God’s love and the hope that comes from being a new creation in Christ. Let this transformation be visible in how we treat others, how we respond to hardships, and in our desire to draw closer to God.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of baptism and the new life I have in Christ. Help me to live each day as a reflection of Your love and grace, walking in the newness of life that You’ve given me. Guide me and strengthen me as I follow Jesus, and let my life be a testimony of Your goodness.
Amen.
