Scripture:
“But because of our sins he was wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment he suffered, made whole by the blows he received.”
— Isaiah 53:5
Reflection:
We were not worthy to live free lives because of the state of the world we inhabit. The Bible declares that all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory, but it took one person to become sin for our sake.
The good news is that Christ Jesus not only forgives our sins but goes further to heal us from spiritual diseases and physical and emotional suffering.
As we navigate this Friday, let us stand firm in the confidence that by His stripes, chronic diseases are fleeing and the gift of healing is our portion. May the sick confess they are healed, for Christ Jesus has conquered sickness—both spiritual and physical.
Prayer:
Lord our Healer, we are grateful for the work of the Cross, which grants us freedom to enjoy God’s blessings. We pray for Your grace to trust in Your power. You are not a man nor the son of man; Your promises are true and amen. We lay our burdens and worries at Your feet, trusting You to accomplish what You have started in us and with us.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
Amen.
